P90X (R) - Core Syngergistics (however you spell it!)

Hola peoples!

It was Saturday, it's my 7th day in a row working out (something I don't normally do) because I had gotten behind last week. I know this was week four - which is kind of a rest week - so I figured I could get my body through it.  I am going to rest tomorrow before hitting my first Phase II workout on Monday (that one looks like a beast!)

Till then, I did the core workout - it is absolutely my favorite of everything so far (though I love the muscle I'm building and the strength I'm gaining from the chin ups!

P90X (R) Yoga X - PhillyMac Phitness

HOLA peoples!

It was Yoga X day.  Have I ever mentioned to you that I'm not particularly fond of Yoga? It's not my typical groove to be still, maintain the same position for 30 seconds or stand on a rubbery mat. Having said all that, I still did Yoga X.  Why?  Because I knew I really needed too. My body thanked me, well I think it did ;)

P90X(R) - Kenpo X. I Punch BADLY.

Hey all!

It was Kenpo X today and my ham strings were so tight you could have played fiddle on them.  Thankfully Tony stretches you out at the start of this, but they were still really tight, especially for the kicking components.

KEY WORD: ADJUST. Make adjustments that allow you to keep going. It may not look pretty, but keep going!

Speaking of looking pretty, even if you're not planning to put your workout online, video yourself anyway.  I realized after watching the jab/cross/hook combo that I was leaving my elbow way down on the hook. Something to improve next time.





Obviously I'm still learning how to use a camera - or at least so that this editing software likes it.  I promise I'll get better.

I'll see you tomorrow with whatever I've got next.  I'm planning on actually using the scheduling feature of the WOWY Supergym for next week.

Pressing AWESOME

It could have just been "Pressing Play" but today was a pressing AWESOME day :-) Up and at em early to do X Stretch (man did that feel good) then NC Fit Club for Insanity Game Day this evening.

One word. Ow.

Another word. Hot shower. OK, it was two words.

Great workout, ready to finish last weeks work with Back & Legs in the morning then I'll commence the rest of the P90X rest week with the regularly scheduled program :-)

WOW!  It was my first time all the way through Yoga X. Zoiks Batman, that's a workout. And BOY did it feel good. I think my favorite part is the last half hour, it gets to stretching out the rest of the body more than just doing all the power warrior and stuff moves.

So, I like to be real. So, really, Wednesday was a bust. I didn't wake up in time to get my arms and shoulders workout in. :(  I did make sure I walked and took the stairs all day at work!

Mind Matters - P90X(R) Day 16 - Plyo

Tuesday morning. I was D-E-D, dead.

My back was aching from the Monday Back & Chest workout. My legs were still aching from my Saturday Back & Legs workout. I was tired (not enough sleep). It would have been SO easy (even after I had gotten up and put my togs on) to quit.

Then I used the most important muscle I have - my mind.

I pushed play. I just marched in place when Tony started. I did 30 seconds. I did the next 30 seconds. Everything still ached. I did the next 30 seconds.  I just kept doing it.  I dug deeper.

At the end, I don't know if it was the best Plyo I've ever done, but I know it was INFINITELY better than any workout that I didn't do.

I was tired and achy. I was sore, I didn't want to move, but I knew I wanted the benefit more than I wanted to not push play - so I pushed through.

You can do it too.

Monday, Monday, MONDAY! Time to hit chest & back for the third time. Crush, crush, crush! And now ow! Good stuff man. What a great way to start the week. I did notice that on these days I get STARVED by lunch - be sure to have fuel!!

P90X(R) - Back & Legs, Ab Ripper X (Day something...?)

SATURDAY!

Yup, after the trip back from Vegas and being up for about 26-27 hours, I crashed on Friday. I didn't feel too guilty because (a) I had that totally crazy day on Wednesday and (b) I watched what I ate on Friday so I wouldn't be sorry :-)

Saturday I hit P90X hard and really enjoyed back and legs.  Oh, then I went out and cut my lawn for an hour and a half.  Tip for the day: Don't work your legs out like an animal then go out and cut your lawn.  Just sayin' ;-)

Rest on Sunday!

P90X(R) - Shoulders & Arms, Ab Ripper X (Day 11), Yoga X (Day 12) and LOTS of Bonus

I'm behind on posting, but I thought I'd catch you up :-)

Here's the story from my Vegas travels, just in case you didn't see my video (https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=10151803514740068)

So, Wednesday morning I got up and CRUSHED Shoulders & Arms and Ab Ripper X.  Great workout. Here's a tip (besides Tony's tip to breathe...) PUSH. I took advantage of the hotel gym to see what kind of weight I could use while staying in good form :-)

YOGA!
I had a yoga session scheduled at the conference I was at and I used that in place of Yoga X. No worries, 2 hours of whatever style the yoga lady had us doing took care of anything that Yoga X would have.  The interesting part was that I did it the same day - just later in the afternoon.

The BIG One
I'm crazy. I really wanted an In-N-Out Burger... so I walked to get one.  Then I walked the Vegas Strip from the Luxor down to Treasure Island and back again. It was an 8 mile round trip.  That was my Wednesday NIGHT.

So all three in one day. I can assure you that my body felt well and truly done in.

Thursday was the last day of my conference, so I did a lot of walking around there, then I headed to the airport for my 1:50 AM departure. 7 hours in an airport. I flew home Friday on the red eye. I got home and I passed out.

So, lots of workout. Lots! Plus of carting around all my stuff at the airport for all that time.

So, you saw that I worked out Monday *night* when I got into Las Vegas, correct? Well, I was up and at 'em early on Tuesday to make sure I got my Plyo day in before I headed out to the conference. Yah baby - that's right, two P90X workouts inside of about 10 hours. You've gotta do what you've gotta do.

P90X(R) Day8 - Chest & Back, Ab Ripper X

So, I had to fly to Vegas for a conference. I didn't feel well and ended up being away until almost 3:00 am Sunday night (Monday morning) before I finally got to sleep, then I didn't sleep well but I needed to stay in bed and get some rest so I couldn't get up early to work out before heading to the airport.

Blown day?

NO.

I landed in Vegas, got to the hotel. Found out where the workout facility was (the "spa" - said with heavy affectation), put on my training garb, grabbed a towel and my MacBook Air and took Tony and the crowd down to the gym.  Then I CRUSHED IT.  Yes, there were guys that were working out that started doing a lot of the moves that I was doing for P90X. :)

You need to find the time, you know you can, it's all for your benefit.

STRETCH!

You know, you'd think.. yoga shmoga. I hated it. I hate yoga. At the same time... MAN, did I feel the difference after the stretch. I was sweating, really sweating. Afterwards I could feel how different my muscles felt. Really it was great. So yes, Yoga X.  Do it. Bring it.
